Local Festivals

Festivals

New Ulm is known as “The City of Festivals”. Below are the four most popular festivals of the year. Additional festivals and events can be found under the Chamber’s Calendar button, but here are some of the more popular for 2008-2009:

Oktoberfest

Oktoberfest is a joint festival of the New Ulm Holiday Inn (Friday evening and all day Saturday) and the New Ulm Chamber of Commerce (Saturday 11 am – 5 pm).  This festival features musical entertainment, including the Concord Singers. Oktoberfest also features a variety of good German food and local Schell’s beer at both locations. Horse-drawn trolley rides are given on Saturday (weather permitting) downtown. The trolley passes some of New Ulm’s historic homes.
